GREEN IS THE COLOUR -
(Important message for 2010)
With
the travel business now at the forefront of efforts to help the
environment, we, as a company, have been urged by the industry to do
our bit. Each year we produce approx. 30,000 holiday brochures,
which takes a sizable amount of paper and energy. It is also
apparent that the majority of people are now sourcing their holiday
directly via our website and by-passing our brochure altogether.
So
we have taken the decision not to produce a brochure for our 2010
programme and will, instead, put more resources into our website and
with the obvious advantage (unlike a printed brochure) of being able
to update the website as and when required, we feel this is now the
right move for Small Families. |
USING CREDIT / DEBIT CARDS
OVERSEAS
When travelling abroad, if you wish to
use your credit/debit cards, we advice you to first contact your bank
and inform them you wish to have this service.
We have discovered that, for security reasons, some banks are blocking
the use of such cards overseas unless requested by the account holder
prior to travel.
For further advice on using cards
abroad, visit

USING
MOBILE PHONES ABROAD
Using your mobile phone abroad
can leave a nasty shock when the bill arrives. In most cases, not only
do you pay more (much more in many cases) to make calls, you also pay to
receive calls. Texts are usually free to receive. We recommend you speak
to your mobile phone operator before you travel as there are often
special rates you can access when abroad but you have to ask - they
won't tell you. Alternatively, especially if you use your phone a
lot, it is preferable to buy a local SIM card in the country you are
visiting, this will mean considerable cost savings although remember,
you will also have a different number when using the card.
Rules and tariffs change frequently so please check the latest situation
with your service provider.
