ITINERARY

What is included?
Return Charter flights to Barbados from London Gatwick, Manchester,
Belfast or Glasgow
Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner on board ship
Day 1/2 - Fly UK/Barbados (Overnight on ship). Begin your journey
on this amazing coral island with its stunning white beaches, rolling
hills and spectacular flora and fauna. Explore the capital Bridgetown
and visit Harrison’s Cave, a magnificent natural phenomenon. After all
that sightseeing, spend the evening with the welcoming and friendly
locals with a glass or three of something cold!
Day 3 - Spend the day at sea enjoying the ships facilities, today
would be a great day to introduce the children to the kids clubs.
Day 4 - Trinidad, with its bright spirit and heady mix of
cultural activities, beautiful people and culinary delights, there’s no
place in the world quite like Trinidad. Located just off the tip of
Venezuela, this English speaking Caribbean paradise is the home of
carnival, the greatest show on earth!
Day 5 - Tobago is an unspoilt haven for the ecotourist, a place
where you can relax on pale pink sands on secluded beaches, wander the
main town of Scarborough or hop on a glass-bottom boat and marvel at the
coral gardens and marine life.
Day 6 - Grenada the spice island. This volcanic island boasts
cascading rivers, waterfalls, lush rainforests and one of the most
breathtaking mountain lakes imaginable. Make sure you don’t miss the 3
hour rum runner boat trip, a fun packed excursion combining a live steel
band, limbo dancing and rum punch with time ashore at Morne Rouge Beach.
Day 7 - St Vincent. If you like scuba diving you’ll love
exploring the coral reefs here or just bathe in the sun on one of the
beautiful black sandy beaches. Alternatively, take a trip to the
Botanical Gardens where rare and exotic flowers, plants and trees
abound.
Day 8 - St Lucia is a real gem of an island waiting to be
discovered by you. Visit the Island’s volcano, take in Marigot Bay, one
of the most beautiful anchorages in the Caribbean or wander through the
capital, Castries where you will find market stalls offering an array of
local crafts.
Day 9 - At sea, a chance to relax, soak up some sun and enjoy the
gentle sea breeze.
Day 10 - St Kitts. In this quiet and alluring corner of Caribbean
paradise you’ll discover lava formations, tropical rainforest and
seaside lagoons. Visit Basseterre with its old style charm and history
or explore the sunken Spanish galleon on White House Bay.
Day 11 - Antigua is an island that boasts so many beautiful while
sandy beaches that the locals claim to have one for every day of the
year. Beyond the sand and water sports there is historic Nelson’s
Dockyard, excellent duty free shopping in St John’s and breathtaking
views over the English Harbour at Shirley Heights.
Day 12 - At sea
Day 13 - Martinique is a slice of France set down in the tropics.
From the French and Creole feel of Fort-de-France to the palm fringed
pristine beaches, this stunning island offer you history as well as
beauty.
Day 14 - Dominica, nicknamed ‘the nature island of the Caribbean’
because of its 365 rivers and streams, waterfalls and hot sulphur
springs, this small yet stunning volcanic tropical island offers whale
and dolphin safaris and water sports galore.
Day 15 - Barbados/Fly back to the UK (Overnight on the flight)
GENERAL INFORMATION
Those of you who have cruised before will already know how completely different
a cruise is from the traditional hotel based holiday. Here is a brief
outline of what you can expect aboard Island Star.
ENTERTAINMENT ONBOARD
Cruise ships are legendary for the quality and quantity of entertainment
they provide. This includes, west end style shows, musicals,
spectaculars, speciality acts and comedians. There are many venues and
bars onboard, deck games, gym, spa, 4 restaurants, deck pool and
Jacuzzi's, kiddies
and teenagers clubs, cooking/ice and fruit carving demo's, Line and
Salsa dance lessons, a casino, onboard shops and more - you'll never be
bored! EXCURSIONS - Your
cruise offers an excellent choice of shore excursions at all ports of
call. A Shore Excursion Presentation will be held onboard to give
details of all tours available.
'ISLAND CHAT' - Your free daily
information paper produced onboard and delivered to your cabin. ISLAND
CHAT tells you what's going on, where and when and a whole lot more.
SALON & SPA - Indulge
yourself, relax mind, body & soul. Facial Treatments - Body
Treatments - Various Massage - Slimming & Detoxifying Treatments - Hand
& Foot Treatments - Nail Treatments - Beauty Salon - Make-up lessons -
Fitness - Personal Training - Pilates - Yoga. A full programme of
spa treatments are available aboard.
SUNDECKS - Ships always offer
excellent facilities for sun worshipers, plenty of loungers swimming
pool and Jacuzzis. No need to move too much as a deck waiter service is
always on-hand to serve you your drinks.
BRIDGE VISITS - Always a popular
event, young and old alike. Visit the bridge while at sea, meet the
captain and find out just how you 'drive' such a monster!
CURRENCY ONBOARD -
Sterling. The ship
operates a 'cashless' system, you sign for your purchases and settle
your account at the end of the cruise by either pound sterling,
(including Scottish and Irish pounds), travellers cheques, Visa credit
card, MasterCard or American Express.
Please note - Switch or Maestro debit cards can be used at the onboard Bureaux
de Change, however, they are not accepted for settling your onboard accounts, personal cheques
are also not accepted. VISAS - No Visa
is required providing you hold a 10 year British passport.
PASSPORT - A full passport is
required, please ensure it's valid for no less than 6 months after
your return to UK. LANGUAGE ON
BOARD - The main language spoken onboard is English
SHIP VOLTAGE - 110V
CURRENCY ASHORE - US$. Although
some islands do have their own currencies, they will generally only
accept US$. There is a Bureaux de Change onboard where you can obtain
dollars. Sterling, travellers cheques, Switch and Maestro debit
cards (not credit cards) can be used
for exchange, (note Scottish and Northern Ireland pounds may not be
accepted in Bureaux de Change ashore).
TRAVEL INSURANCE - It is
essential that you are covered with suitable travel insurance, (Small
Families can provide competitive insurance cover if you wish). Please be aware that the European Health Insurance Card (EHIC) - formally the E111, is
not valid outside of Europe.
DOCTOR - There is a doctor
onboard, fees are chargeable and must be settled onboard. You may
be able to make a claim on your travel insurance on your return to the
UK provided any treatment/medication you have is covered under the terms
of your policy.
DENTIST - There is no dentist
onboard.
